How Did You Get Into Radio?  I knew from the age of  12 that I wanted to be in radio. I come from a very musical family where everyone in my family could either dance, sing, or play a instrument. I could not do any of those things! As you can imagine, being the youngest of five kids I had a lot of peer pressure in this area. So I told my family…you make the music, and I will play it on the radio! I have never done or wanted to do anything else in my life. I have been blessed.

“I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control, and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”
Favorite Foods: I love all food as long as it’s not spicy I’ll probably eat it. I’m always down for some good authentic Chinese food and good sushi.
You'd Never Know But: I don’t know how to put this, but I’m kind of a big deal. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
How Did You Get Into Radio?: Well, originally my major was Criminal justice, but one day I was driving around and I saw the “Flava Unit” which was the street team for Wild 94.9. I learned they were hiring for interns, applied and got hired. Worked my way up from an intern to where I’m at now and I still don’t know where that is.

Royce

Weekdays 10pm - 3pm
It is Rolls Royce check me out everyday Monday thru Friday 10am to 3pm on Power 93.9! A little about me…I am born and raised in Wichita!   Born at St. Francis Hospital, went to Black Elementary, Hadley Middle School (Go Blue Devils), and attended North High School (Go Redskins). I grew up on the Westside, (13th and West are), but now reside on the Northeast side of town. I have been in radio for 5 years. I started at 107.9 Jamz. I did nights there then joined the Power 93.9 family in January of 2008 and have been here ever since.

I am really into music. I have been DJing for 15 years. I got my first set of turntables in 1995! (You can do the math to see how old I am). You can also check me out doing the daily mixes on Power 93.9, and mixing and a club near you.   I also have a severe addition to Polo clothes. Hit me on facebook, twitter or myspace.

Deuce

Weekdays 3pm - 7pm
I was born with headphones on a mic in my hand, even the doctors were confused by this rare deformity.  Due to stunted emotional growth as a youngster and inability to connect with others in a meaningful way, I spent my childhood making fake radio broadcasts in my bedroom. I was raised during the renaissance of Hip-Hop influenced by the melodic underpinings of groups like A Tribe Called Quest and Black Sheep, along with the hard hitting socially consicious lyrics and pulsating rhythms of KRS-One and Public Enemy.

I got my feet wet in radio doing a talk show in college, and after years of toiling as an intern, I produced a parody during Kobe Bryant's sexual assault case and that led to my first job on air in Denver.  After working in Denver for 4 years, I was brought to Wichita in 2007 and have had a blast ever since playing today's hottest music and at least attempting to entertain the audience.  Thanks for listening so that I can pay my light bill.

DJ Richy

Weekdays 7pm - 10pm

Well, my government name is Richard Smart. I’ve been working in radio for 3 years now! The way I became interested in radio was when I would hear stories about my grandfather “Dick Smart” being on KEYN’s “Soul Sunday” I loved hearing about what he did and who he brought to town! Acts like James Brown, Ike & Tina, Ohio Players, Commodores, Rufus & Chaka Khan, Isley Brothers and many more.

How I became a DJ was when I was younger, my family would come together and sing for family events. I wasn’t the greatest at singing, so I needed to find another musical trade. That’s when DJing came into place. I would play on my parent’s and grandparent’s record player only to get in trouble afterwards. At first I started doing high school parties, then small clubs, and now many different types of events. I just love all types of music and want to contribute to bringing smiles to the world in a musical manner.
